What is B Corp?
B-Corporation, or simply B Corp, is a private certification for profit-oriented companies that assesses the social and environmental practices of the company. Companies are certified if they meet the highest standards for verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose.
The prestigious B Corp certification is part of our sustainability and inclusion roadmap. As a B Corp certified company, we commit to creating social value and ecological sustainability. Through the rigorous certification process, we demonstrate to you, our customers, and other businesses that we are dedicated to a values-driven corporate culture.
Buckle & Seam is the highest-rated B Corp company in Germany!

A long road to happiness
The certification process involves a management tool provided by B Lab, which is used by over 50,000 companies worldwide to help them assess their impacts on various stakeholders, including their employees, the community, customers, and the environment.
On this platform, we had to delve deep into our processes, provide documents, and assess where we stand on each issue. We answered about 200 questions on five main impact areas: governance, employees, community, environment, and customers.

Ecological Responsibility
WE ARE PROUD TO BE ONE OF THE FIRST FASHION COMPANIES TO RECEIVE THIS AWARD IN GERMANY. THE CERTIFICATION PROCESS HAS ONCE AGAIN UNDERSCORED HOW IMPORTANT MANY OF THE MEASURES WE HAVE BEEN PURSUING SINCE THE BEGINNING ARE, NOT ONLY FOR OUR DIRECT STAKEHOLDERS, BUT ALSO FOR OUR ENVIRONMENT. THIS ACHIEVEMENT REAFFIRMS OUR CORE VALUES, YET WE KNOW THERE IS STILL MUCH TO DO.

Our Results
At least 80 points can be achieved, with each question providing a breakdown of the points a company can receive based on its business practices. In the end, we finished with 124.1 points. We performed best in Governance, Customers, and Community. We need to improve our practices the most in Environment and Workers.
We are working on it. We are the highest-rated B Corp company in all of Germany!
How it continues
The certification is just the beginning. This achievement reaffirms our core values, yet we know there is still much to do. To maintain the B Corp certification, actions must continue and progress must be made. We are reassessed every 3 years. We are continuously working on innovative solutions to minimize energy and water consumption in production and to implement new sustainable materials. We are also working on practices of upcycling and constant improvement of the carbon-neutral supply chain. The fight for equality and the basic right to education has been at the core of our company since its inception. We have just launched a collaboration with the renowned industry magazine TextilWirtschaft, where we jointly donate 30% of sales to our AMN School. The purchase of a bag enables one year of schooling for a child in Pakistan. We are delighted to actively choose a fairer world every day.
We collaborate with Patagonia, Ecosia, The Guardian, Einhorn, and many others.
